2010 Longboat Toronto Island Run in Support of Pathways

Pathways is proud to welcome the support of the Longboat Runners through the annual Toronto Island Race.

Celebrating its 30 th anniversary, the race will take place on Toronto Centre Island on September 19th at 11:15 AM. Founded in honour of Tom Longboat, the first Canadian Aboriginal winner of the Boston Marathon in 1907, Longboat Runners is a not-for-profit organization in Toronto operated by club members on a volunteer basis. The club promotes recreational and competitive running and supports general health & fitness through philanthropy.
Voted one of the top road races in Ontario by members of the Ontario Roadrunners Association, it is an anticipated family event offering 10k and 5k races, a 1k Kids fun run, and bbq – truly a family event.

Over 70 Pathways students from Toronto and Kitchener attended, and Daniel from Kitchener threw the first pitch. It was held June 24/09 and hosted by the Jays Care Foundation which sponsors the Jays Home Run Scholars program with Pathways.

CAW and Chrysler Canada will host the Fifth Annual Pathways to Education Charity Golf Classic. All proceeds from this tournament will be used to support the students in our highly successful and ever-growing Pathways to Education program.
